Shopify Service

Shopify Support
& Maintenance
you can rely on.

Something's broken, needs updating, or you want a new section built before the weekend rush hits. Send it our way. We've been keeping Shopify stores running since 2011, from quick CSS fixes to untangling nasty app conflicts after a Shopify API version update. Our portfolio shows some of the bigger builds, but a lot of our 98% client retention comes from exactly this kind of day-to-day work.

Pick the support model that fits how you work

Some stores need us once a quarter. Others need someone available every week, especially when Shopify rolls out a new API version or a key app update breaks something. Either way, all work happens on a duplicate theme. Your live store isn't touched until you've approved the fix.

Every type of Shopify issue, diagnosed and resolved

A visual bug that only shows on Safari mobile. A checkout that broke after a Shopify API deprecation. An app conflict nobody noticed until it killed the cart. We've fixed all of it, across 500+ stores over 13 years. Our <a href="/portfolio" style="color:rgba(255,255,255,0.8); border-bottom:1px solid rgba(255,255,255,0.3);">portfolio</a> shows some of the bigger builds, but day-to-day support is where a lot of these relationships started. It's also why 98% of clients stay with us.

Theme & Code
Liquid, CSS & JavaScript Bugs
Code-level problems in your Shopify theme: broken layouts, CSS overrides introduced by app updates, JavaScript errors in the cart or checkout, Liquid logic that stopped rendering correctly after a theme update.
  • Section or block not rendering correctly
  • CSS style conflict between theme and app
  • JavaScript error on product
  • page Cart quantity not updating
  • Dropdown menu broken on mobile
Apps & Integrations
App Conflicts & Broken Integrations
Two apps loading duplicate scripts. A review widget breaking the product page after an update. A loyalty app that vanished from the cart after Shopify deprecated an older API version. These are the conflicts we diagnose and sort out.
  • Review widget overlapping other elements
  • Loyalty app not showing in cart
  • Email marketing sync failure
  • Upsell popup breaking checkout
  • Two apps loading duplicate scripts
Checkout & Payments
Checkout & Payment Issues
Discount codes not applying. Wrong shipping rates showing up. Checkout branding that broke after a Shopify update. Payment gateway errors that only appear at certain order values. These issues cost you money every hour they're live, so we treat them as urgent.
  • Discount code not applying correctly
  • Wrong shipping rates showing at checkout
  • Payment gateway configuration issue
  • Checkout CSS customisation not working
  • Tax not calculating correctly
Design & Layout
Design Changes & UI Updates
Font and colour changes, new section builds, page layout adjustments, mobile responsiveness fixes. If it's a visual change to your theme, whether minor or significant, it's handled as a regular support task, scoped and quoted before we touch anything. If you need a full redesign, our Store Design service is the better fit.
  • Homepage hero layout adjustment
  • Product page section redesign
  • Mobile layout broken on specific device
  • New announcement bar or promotional banner
  • Font or colour brand update across theme
Performance
Speed & Performance Issues
Stores slow down over time. New apps add scripts, images accumulate, themes get heavier. We run targeted fixes: script deferral, image optimisation, CSS cleanup. For stores with persistent speed problems, our dedicated Speed Optimisation service goes deeper.
  • Homepage taking too long to load
  • Large product images not optimised
  • App scripts blocking page rendering
  • Pagespeed score dropped after update
  • Core Web Vitals failing on key pages
Content & Catalogue
Content & Product Updates
Product uploads, collection changes, seasonal banner swaps, redirect setup after a URL restructure, navigation edits. The day-to-day stuff that still needs to be done right, especially before high-traffic periods like Black Friday.
  • Bulk product import or update
  • New collection and navigation setup
  • Seasonal homepage banner swap
  • Blog post publishing and formatting
  • URL redirect setup after restructure

You'll always know when to expect your fix

Every request gets triaged when it comes in. We tell you the expected completion time before work starts, not after. No chasing, no wondering if your task got lost.

Emergency (Critical)
Same day
Broken checkout, payment failure, store-wide error
A broken checkout costs you money every minute it's live. We treat these as critical regardless of plan. Email dan@axiswebart.us with "URGENT" and a description, and we'll jump on it right away.
Retainer Plan
1–4 hours
Priority acknowledgement and same-day resolution for most tasks
Retainer clients go to the front of the queue. We acknowledge urgent issues within 1 to 4 hours, and most tasks, bug fixes, small builds, app conflicts, are resolved the same business day. That 98% client retention rate isn't an accident. It comes from people feeling genuinely covered.
Pay As You Go
1–3 days
Standard turnaround for one-off tasks and bug fixes
One-off requests are scoped, confirmed, and resolved within 1 to 3 business days. If a task needs more time, say a tricky app integration or a significant layout change, we quote a specific delivery date up front so you're not guessing.

What it actually takes to keep a store healthy

Bug fixes are the obvious part. Long-term store health is about staying ahead of Shopify's quarterly releases, managing API version deprecations before they bite, catching performance that's crept downward from accumulated app scripts, and recognising when a recurring issue points to something deeper in the theme. Retainer clients get proactive input on all of that, not just reactive fixes. If you're on Shopify Plus, that layer of ongoing attention matters even more.

We work on stores we didn't build. You don't need to have been an Axis Web Art client before. We review your theme codebase, understand how it's structured, and support it the same way we'd support one we built ourselves. See some of the work we have built in our portfolio.

01
Bug Fixes, All Types
Liquid, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify configuration bugs. We find the root cause, whether it's a conflicting app script, a Liquid edge case, or a Shopify API version change, and fix it properly. Not just the symptom.
02
Theme Updates & New Features
Adding new sections, blocks, or functionality to your existing theme. Built to match the style and code standards of what's already there, so nothing looks bolted on.
03
App Integration & Troubleshooting
Diagnosing and resolving conflicts between apps, fixing broken integrations, and getting newly installed apps working correctly with your theme. We've seen most conflict patterns before. Diagnosis is usually fast.
04
Content & Product Management
Product uploads, collection management, page edits, banner updates, redirect setup, and navigation changes. Handled carefully and verified before publishing, especially before high-traffic periods like Black Friday.
05
Monthly Reporting (Retainer)
Retainer clients get a monthly summary covering everything completed, hours used, and a short list of recommendations for the period ahead. You always know where things stand.

Why Shopify support requires Shopify expertise

Not every developer who can fix a generic web problem can fix a Shopify-specific one. Liquid, Shopify's API, OS 2.0 architecture, checkout limitations, app conflict patterns: these need platform depth that generalists don't have. We've been working exclusively in Shopify since 2011. We're a New York-based agency with 30+ in-house specialists and we've never outsourced.

01
We diagnose root causes, not symptoms
When something's broken, the visible symptom is rarely the root cause. We trace issues back to their source, whether that's a conflicting app script, a Liquid template edge case, a misconfigured setting, or a theme update that introduced a regression, and fix it at the origin.
02
We never work on your live theme
All theme code changes happen on a duplicate. Your live store keeps running without interruption. Once the fix is tested and verified, we apply it to the live theme. It doesn't matter how small the task is. We don't skip this step.
03
You get a quote before we start
Every task is scoped and quoted before work begins. For pay-as-you-go requests, you get a clear estimate of the cost and timeline before approving anything. There aren't any billing surprises, and you won't get an open-ended hourly invoice after the fact.
04
We support stores we did not build
You don't need to have worked with us before. We assess and understand the structure of any Shopify store before we start, and we're upfront about what we find, including any pre-existing issues that are separate from the task you submitted.
05
13 years of Shopify experience
We've been working with Shopify since 2011. We've seen every major platform change, API update, and theme architecture shift. That depth means we recognise patterns quickly. Most issues we encounter aren't the first time we've seen them.
06
Available for the long term
Freelance developers go quiet. Agencies scale up and lose focus on smaller accounts. Platforms change and old code stops working. We're a stable agency with a permanent team, 30+ in-house specialists, no freelancers. We work with clients across the US, from New York to Chicago. Available now and available in two years when you need something updated again.

Submit a task. We take it from there.

From the moment you submit a support request to the moment the fix is live on your store: a clear, predictable process with no ambiguity about what's happening or when.

Phase 01
Submit your request
Email dan@axiswebart.us or use the contact form with a description of the issue or task. Screenshots, screen recordings, or links to the affected page always help. For urgent issues, put "URGENT" in the subject line so we can triage it straight away.
Phase 02
We assess and quote
We review your request, access your store via a collaborator request, and assess the issue. For pay-as-you-go tasks, you get a clear cost estimate and expected completion time before we touch anything. For retainer clients, we get moving straight away within the allocated hours.
Phase 03
Fix on duplicate, test thoroughly
All theme changes happen on a duplicate of your live theme. We fix the root cause, not just the visible symptom, and test the fix across desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers before we ask for your review.
Phase 04
Review, approve, and go live
We send you a preview link or screenshots showing the fix. Once you've approved it, we publish the updated theme to your live store. For retainer clients, we log the task in the monthly summary with time spent and any recommendations that came out of the work.

Support & maintenance questions answered

Everything you need to know about getting ongoing Shopify support: pricing, response times, how it works, and what we can fix.

Ask us directly
How much does Shopify support and maintenance cost?

Our support service starts from $20 for small, targeted bug fixes and individual tasks. Larger tasks, adding a new theme section, resolving a complex app conflict, or significant layout changes, are scoped and quoted based on estimated hours.

Monthly retainer plans start from $200 per month and provide a set number of development hours with priority response times and proactive monitoring. All tasks are quoted before work begins. There aren’t any open-ended invoices or surprises.

What types of Shopify issues can you fix?

We fix all types of Shopify store issues: layout and visual bugs in Liquid, HTML, and CSS; JavaScript errors affecting the cart, checkout, or theme functionality; app conflicts causing broken UI or checkout issues; broken sections or blocks in the theme editor; mobile responsiveness issues; slow-loading pages caused by theme code; broken redirects; product or collection display problems; checkout configuration bugs; and anything else affecting how your store looks or works.

We also handle non-bug tasks: adding new sections, updating page layouts, bulk product uploads, content changes, redirect setup, and app installation and configuration. If it’s Shopify-related, we can handle it. Need deeper work? Check our theme development or Shopify SEO services.

How quickly can you fix a Shopify bug?

For emergency issues like a broken checkout, payment failure, or store-wide display error, we respond and work toward same-day resolution regardless of plan. Email dan@axiswebart.us directly with “URGENT” in the subject line.

For retainer clients, priority acknowledgement is within 1 to 4 hours, and most tasks are resolved the same business day. It’s one of the main reasons clients stay, and it’s why we’ve got a 98% retention rate.

For pay-as-you-go requests, standard turnaround is 1 to 3 business days depending on complexity. All requests get triaged on receipt and you’ll hear back with an expected completion time before we start.

What is included in a monthly retainer plan?

A monthly retainer gives you a set number of development hours per month that you can use for any combination of tasks: bug fixes, theme updates, new feature additions, content updates, app configuration, performance work, or SEO maintenance.

Retainer clients get priority response times with urgent issues addressed within hours, a monthly summary of all work completed and hours used, and proactive recommendations based on what we spot in your store. Plans are flexible and the scope can be adjusted month to month.

Will you work directly on my live store?

No. For any work involving theme code changes, we always work on a duplicate theme. Your live store isn’t touched during development. The fix gets tested on the duplicate, shared with you for review, and only applied to the live theme once you’ve approved it.

For minor content updates, editing a product description or updating page text, those are made directly in your Shopify admin with no risk to the live storefront code. We follow the same safe practice regardless of task size.

Can you support a Shopify store you did not build?

Yes. We regularly support stores built by other agencies or developers, and stores built on premium themes we didn’t originally touch. Before we start, we review your theme codebase and installed apps to understand how it’s all structured. That lets us work efficiently and spot any pre-existing issues that might be connected to what you’re experiencing.

There’s no requirement to have worked with us before, and there’s no charge for the initial review of your store.

Can you help with Shopify app conflicts?

Yes. App conflicts, where two or more installed apps cause visual or functional issues, are one of the most common support problems we deal with. We diagnose the source by reviewing the scripts each app injects into your theme, figure out whether it’s fixable through configuration or needs code-level work, and implement the fix.

If the only real option is removing a poorly built app, we’ll tell you clearly and recommend a better alternative where possible. If you need a fully custom app built to replace a problematic off-the-shelf one, we handle that too.

Do you offer emergency Shopify support?

Yes. For business-critical issues, a broken checkout, payment gateway failure, store-wide display error, or anything actively stopping customers from completing purchases, we offer emergency support with same-day response and resolution as the priority.

Email dan@axiswebart.us directly with “URGENT” in the subject and a description of what’s broken. We’ll respond right away and start diagnosis without waiting for the normal request process.

Can you make design changes to my Shopify theme?

Yes. Theme design updates are among our most common support tasks: adjusting layouts, changing fonts, colours, spacing, and typography, adding new content sections, modifying page layouts, updating navigation, and making UI improvements. These get handled as regular support tasks, scoped and quoted based on complexity.

For larger design changes, like a full page redesign or a complete theme overhaul, those are better scoped as dedicated development projects. Our Shopify theme development service is the right fit for that kind of work.
